Waste Disposal

The environmental impacts of waste disposal are becoming increasingly more apparent.

Australians generate 4 times as much trash compared to 1960, and while recycling rates have increased to 34%, there is still a lot of trash being thrown away by consumers every day.

Companies are also generating a lot of waste due to expansion and production.

The world is producing more and more waste. This is a serious problem because the environment cannot cope with it.

In order to solve this problem, we need to find ways to reduce the amount of waste that we produce in the first place. This can be done by reducing our consumption and by recycling what we don’t use.

This is where Durable Recycling enter the picture. We are a One-stop-Recycling Centre in Southern Adelaide.

Decided it’s time to declutter?

Or the kids have outgrown their clothes, but they’re still in excellent condition?

By donating your pre-loved items to Vinnies they will get a new life, support Australians doing it tough and reduce landfill and the impact on the environment. Vinnies shops need your great quality items to help fund Vinnies programs across the country that support 1.3 million vulnerable Australians each year.

Thank you so much for your wonderful donations!

What can I donte?

When considering whether something can be donated to Vinnies, our rule of thumb is if you’d give it to a friend, then it’s ok to give to Vinnies.

  • Men’s women’s and children’s clothing and accessories
  • Homewares, including manchester
  • Kids toys

You can also place donations into the donation bin provided. If they are full, please do not leave donations outside the bins as they are likely to get damaged due to the weather/environment and we will ahve to take them to landfill.

Ink and Toner Cartridges Recycling

inks and cartridges

Printer catridges are made up of a complex combination of plastics, metals, foam, ink and toner. Throwing them into landfill represents a waste of resources and contributes to the growing problem of electronic waste. By recycling your cartridges you are helping to reduce this waste.

Cartridges 4 Planet Ark‘ is an innovative recycling program that provides Asutralians with a free, easy and environmentally accredited way to recycle their used printer cartridges.

As a public drop point of Cartridges 4 Planet Ark, we provide free drop off services for all inkjet cartridges, toner cartridges and toner.

Tyre Recycling

tyres recycling

Currently, thousands of tonnes of scrap tyres are illegally dumped every year and not only cost millions of dollars annually but also have placed people’s lives and wellbeing in jeopardy by extreme fire hazards, risk of spreading dengue fever and toxic pollution.

Recycling tyres can recover 85% of the rubber and 95% of the steel used to make a new tyre, can offset <60% of the Greenhouse Gases emitted to make new tyres.

With the support of tyre cycle (a national tyre recycler) Durable Recycling is happy to accept all types, from motorcycle all the way to large tractor tyres.

Gas Bottles Recycling
